Our Story

Founder of Medina Cuisine
Oumar Ly grew up in Dakar, Senegal, where he fell in love with the rich, flavorful dishes of his culture. Classics like Thieboudienne, Yassa, Fataya, and Neme (Senegalese eggrolls) brought people together and left lasting memories.
After moving to Sidney, Ohio, Oumar saw an opportunity — not just to share the unique taste of Senegal, but to introduce something new to the local food scene. That’s how Medina Cuisine was born: a way to celebrate diversity through food and create connections between cultures.
What began as a personal love for food has grown into a thriving business. Today, Medina Cuisine serves up authentic Senegalese favorites with heart, spice, and hospitality — proudly adding flavor and cultural richness to the community of Sidney, Ohio.
